Thank you for your interest in serving as a Leader for the 2013 National Jamboree, the Cradle of Liberty Council has filled ALL Leadership positions except for a few spots for Third Assistant Scoutmaster.

If you are interested in helping at the National Jamboree please consider registering as a National Volunteer.

Unit Leader Qualifications
Leader Fee: $995.00


Scoutmaster Qualifications:

All Jamboree Scoutmasters, First, Second and Third Assistant Scoutmasters must meet the following requirements:

  • Must have a current BSA membership with a Boy Scout troop or Varsity Scout team.
  • Scoutmasters, First and Second Assistant Scoutmasters must be at least 21 years of age by the first day of the Jamboree.
  • Third Assistant Scoutmasters must be at least18 years of age by the first day of the Jamboree but not yet 21 years of age by the last day of the Jamboree.
  • For Scoutmasters or First Assistant Scoutmasters, be currently serving as a Scoutmaster or Varsity Coach.
  • For Second and Third Assistant Scoutmasters, be currently serving in any adult troop capacity.
  • All Leader applicants must have completed Scoutmaster or Varsity Scout Coach Leader specific training.
  • All leaders must Complete Youth Protection Training within one year of the first day of the Jamboree.
  • All adult leaders must be able to serve as a role model of physical fitness and have participated in the Pre-Jamboree training experience.
  • All adult leaders must have filed a Jamboree Personal Health and Medical record with the Council Jamboree Committee before the Pre - Jamboree training.
  • All adult leaders must be approved by the local council.
  • All Adult leaders must submit all registration fees per the local council's payment schedule.

Venturing Advisor Qualifications

Venturing Advisors must meet the following requirements:

  •     Must have a current BSA membership with aVenturing crew.
  •     Be at least 21 years of age by the first day of the Jamboree.
  •     Completed Venturing Leader Specific training.
  •     Completed Youth Protection training within one year of the first day of the Jamboree.
  •     Be actively serving as a crew Advisor or Associate Advisor.
  •     Be able to serve as a role model of physical fitness and have participated in the pre-Jamboree training experience.
  •     Have filed a Personal Health and Medical Record before the Pre-Jamboree training with the Council Jamboree Committee.
  •     Be approved by the local council.
  •     Submit all registration fees per the local council's payment schedule.

Things you need to have before you go to the National Website:

  • Valid Membership ID number
  • Current headshot photo of Leader
  • As an adult leader, if you are having a problem getting your membership ID to be accepted on the Summit site, please contact Dominic Aquilino, Staff Advisor - daquilino@COLBSA.org to verify if you have more than one ID.

When you print the filled out application, bring it or mail it to the Firestone Service Center along with the $295.00 initial deposit.   To be selected as an adult leader requires an interview with the selection committee, which will be held at the beginning of December, you will be contacted for an interview.
