Scouting For Food
Scouting For Food

Scouting for Food is one of nation's largest food drives that Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, and Veture Crew members participate in to support their local Food Pantry's and Hunger Relief angencies.

The Scouts of the Cradle of Liberty Council have continuously exceeded expectations and fully stocked dozens of our partner agencies with bags and bags of canned food.

Check here for updates on this year's Scouting for Food campaign and learn how you can contribute.

Each holiday season the Philadelphia area Scouts volunteer thousands of hours and conduct one of the largest food drives in the area. This collaborative efforts involves Channel 6 WPVI-ABC, several local scout councils, dozens of food pantries and hundreds of area businesses and thousands of generous citizens. We would like to take the chance to thank all of our volunteers, sponsors, and givers for assisting the Boy Scouts of America in their mission to ensure that no person goes hungry this Thanksgiving.

Scouts will go door to door distributing Scouting for Food Bags

The Scouts will distribute Scouting for Food bags door to door on Saturday, November 10th.

Please fill out this short survey about your bag distribution(after 11/10), click here

The Scouts will go door to door to pick up food donations

On Saturday, November 17th the Scouts will be picking up food left outside of residences and sort them for donation. If you were expecting a Scout to collect your donation and it was not collected on this day, please visit a local food pantry to drop off your donation.

Please fill out this short survey about how much food you collected(after 11/17), click here

The Scouts will sort and count the total donations for their unit and report them.

Our units are proud of their efforts in 2010 to collect over 40000 lbs. of food and are challenged to collect more this year. In an effort to measure our progress we are asking that each unit report their total collections.

The Boy Scouts of America will collect food along the parade route of the 6 ABC Thanksgiving Day Parade.

On Thanksgiving, the Boy Scouts of America will assemble to collect food items from parade attendees. Efforts will be made through television commercials to ask attendees to bring items of food with them to be collected by the Scouts.
