Your area Scout Shop is dedicated to getting you all of the supplies and uniform parts to make your Scouting experience fun and possitive. Find out what's going on and what's new in your Scout Shop.
The Valley Forge and the Philadelphia Scout Shops are looking to add new people to their staff who are able to work about 15 to 20 hours a week between the hours of 8:30am and 7:00pm Monday through Friday and Saturdays between 9:00am and 4:00pm. More hours can be had when the manager or full time associates are on vacation or off for other reasons.
All you have to do is stop in the store to see the manager for details and an application or send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com to request the application. Call the Valley Forge Scout Shop at 610-989-9626 or the Philadelphia Scout Shop at 215-564-0785 and ask for the manager if you have questions. We need new staff to start right away.
This is an opportunity to earn some extra funds, to have fun working with people who have the same interest that you have, and to meet new people, learn new things, and enjoy your time.
Spring Has Sprung
Events are Arriving at the Scout Shops!
To best serve your needs, to provide you with a lot of information and opportunities, the Valley Forge
and the Philadelphia Scout Shops are busy getting ready for many events. Some of these events include information. Some include free gift cards with a purchase. Some include fun events and prizes. Some include sales and clearance events.
The newest event was just held Saturday, March 30 at both the Valley Forge and the Philadelphia Scout shops. We called it “Scouting for Eggs” and it was a new part of the spring holiday season. Eggs, filled with candy and prizes, were hidden outside around the properties for the Cub Scouts to find and gather. Coloring contests were held and games or puzzles were available to play. This is the first year for this event but we were hoping to make it a yearly event. There were about 10 Scouts and younger siblings at Philadelphia and about 35 Cub Scouts and younger siblings at Valley Forge. Everyone had a good time and seemed to think it would be a fun thing to do every year.
Mother’s Day is coming faster than you think and we know there are a lot of great mothers out there, volunteering, helping, cooking, cleaning, working, mowing grass, and all the other things mothers do. The Scout Shops will have a special offer from April 29th through May 12th to let your mother know how important and loved she is. During this time, when you purchase a Mother’s Day card at the Scout Shops you will receive a free patch. We all like free things and mothers love cards from their children, husbands, friends, and anyone who is important in their lives. Don’t miss out, the offer will be available from April 29th through May 12th.
May 11th will be an important date. That is the date the Scout Shops will both be holding the Get Ready For Camp event. When visiting either the Valley Forge or Philadelphia Scout Shops you will be able to learn how to choose a backpack, how to size one, and how to pack a backpack. There will be packing lists available for summer camp and there will be events going on so you can see how some things are done. More details on these events will be in future newsletters. The events will be held in the shops or close by and will be available for you to enjoy during regular hours at both shops.
Summer camp will be upon you faster than you realize and we would like to remind you that the Scout Shops are your one stop shopping place where you can get what you need and support both the Cradle of Liberty Council and the National Council who develops all the wonderful things a Scout can do. New product is arriving everyday including backpacks, sleeping bags, tents for family or unit camping, cooking gear, books on how to, and anything else you would need. These items are on display in the shop for you to look at, learn about, and purchase any that you or your Scout need.
A future event being considered for the Scout Shops for the summer, in August, is a cooking contest. We plan to have outside judges from area restaurants, a pie eating contest, and more fun ideas. Details will be coming in the future but plan on attending and showing your talents in the cooking part of Scouting.
You can contact the Valley Forge Scout Shop at firstname.lastname@example.org or 610-989-9626 for all your needs and to answer all your questions. The Philadelphia Scout Shop can be reached at email@example.com or at 215-564-0785. If you have any ideas for our cooking contest please let us know.
