Dear Scouting Community,
When my son was seven years old, he joined the Cub Scouts. I was busy with work, but every Sunday night I attended his den meetings, and that summer we spent a week together at Cub Scout camp.
This was the start of a wonderful journey, a journey of a Dad and his son doing things together that, without the Scouting program, we never would have done.
This fall, our 18 year-old son left for college, and I can see that he will soon be moving on with his own life. I'm very thankful that there's a program like Scouting that provided us with a structured way to spend time together, and helped me pass on to my son those things that I feel are important in life.
As parents, we all want the best for our children. Scouting provides these things for our children, and with your support, Scouting will remain strong in our community.
I hope that you continue to enjoy your journey in Scouting, and I thank you in advance for your support!
Sincerely,
Tom Harrington
