How old does my son have to be?
The Cub Scouts accept boys from ages 6-11 (Grades 1-5).
The Boy Scouts accept boys grades 5-12 (up to age 18).
The Venturers accept youth (male and female) ages 14-21.

How do I sign my son up for Scouting?
You can find your own Cub Scout or Boy Scout unit by going to our local unit finder at www.beAscout.org. If you are interested in joining a Venturing post or can not find a unit in your area, please contact the Council Offices at 610-688-6900 or 215-988-9811

Where can I download Adult and Youth applications for the Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, and Venturing?
All of our Scouting programs use a standard application. The application is accessible on our national website. Please download the appropriate application (youth or adult) and fill it out as completely as possible. Once your application is filled out, please bring it to your unit for approval. Please note that your application must be approved by a unit before you can become a member of the Boy Scouts of America.

I am a parent / prospective volunteer / registered volunteer and I would like to participate in basic training. How do I participate?
All scouting adults can participate in training by navigating to the Adult Training section National website for the Boy Scouts of America. Any interested adult can participate in our trainings, and we highly recommend (for registered adults it is required) that each adult participate in ?Youth Protection? training. If you are new to scouting, ?This is Scouting? provides an overview of the Scouting organization, including history, values, programs, Youth Protection, community involvement, and training.

I want to be trained online, but I do am not a registered leader / I do not have my registration number. How do I participate?
It is not required that you be a registered leader to participate in our Adult Training on the National website. When asked to register an account, leave your registration number blank. Once you do register as an adult leader / get your registration number, you can enter it into your account and have your completed training updated to our computer records.

I want to conduct a training for my unit leaders. How do I request a training kit?
Training kits are available to our registered units free of charge through our Assistant Registrar, Bobbi Stover. Please fill out the Training Kit Request Form located on the Training portion of our website.

What time can I check in for weekend camping?
Check in begins at 5:00 PM and ends at 9:00 PM. If you must check in later than 9:00 PM, contact the ranger for the camp at least twenty-four hours in advance.

Can I arrive at camp prior to Friday or stay past Sunday?
Weekend camping reservations are available Friday through Sunday only. On occasion, units are permitted to arrive a day early and / or stay a day late. These reservations must be approved through the camping department and additional camping fees will apply.

How do I sign my unit up for Resica Falls Summer Camp?
Please download the 2010 Declaration of Intent, found in our Camping Department's Document Library. Submit this form to the Firestone Office (Valley Forge, PA) with a $50 non-refundable deposit. Weeks of camp are already filled, so please contact the camping department to confirm that your desired week of camp is still available prior to mailing in your paperwork.

What medical forms do I need to attend Boy Scout Summer Camp in 2010?
The ONLY medical form acceptable for the 2010 Summer Camp season is the Annual Health & Medical Record. This form is found in our Camping Department's Document Library. The old medical forms (class 1 & 2, Class 3) will no longer be accepted. The Annual Health & Medical Record is valid for 12 months, so you must get a new one completed every year.

Registration for Cubworld opened on December 1, 2009. Registration is held on a first come, first choice basis. Campsite preference will be acccommodated in the order in which deposits are received. What is Cub Scout Day Camp?
Cub Scout Day Camp is a five day, fun-filled experience that offers opportunities for all levels of Cub Scouting, from Tiger to Webelos II, to participate in activities that are designed to build mental fitness, physical skills, and character. And it is A LOT OF FUN!

Where are the Camps?
Day Camps are located in or near each District in the Cradle of Liberty Council. All cubs and their families are welcome to attend any camp in the Council. For your convenience we have created a map that has where each of locations listed, with the dates and registration details as well.

What will my Cub Scout do at Camp?
Each camp has a variety of age-appropriate games and sports, crafts, and other activities that will help your Cub have a Scouting Adventure! Belt loops, activity pins, and other advancement are earned at each camp.

How much does camp cost?
Cub Scout -- $100 per week Adults/Boy Scout Volunteers -- FREE Siblings -- Varies by age (see registration info or contact Camp Director for more details).

Camperships can cover up to half the cost of camp (a campership is need-based aid). Applications can be obtained from the Camping Department's Document Library.

Can I bring my Cub's siblings?
All camps have a Kids Korner program available for the children of camp volunteers. Check with your Day Camp Director for age minimums and any other requirements. All sibling campers must be potty trained. Camps also offer a Sibling program for thier volunteer's Cub Scout-age children (7-10), in which siblings will participate in the same activities as Cub Scouts. Parents with children in the Sibling program and/or Kids Korner MUST be volunteering for the full week.

Do I have to volunteer?
Cub Scout Day Camp would be lost without its youth and adult volunteers. Adults learn a lot and will be inspired and engaged in the idea of Scouting and camping. Adults can volunteer from one to five days and serve in a variety of staff roles. Adults who are able to volunteer for a full week can bring thier Cub Scout to camp FOR FREE! Youth volunteers are needed to serve as Den Chiefs and assist in program areas.

Do I have to fill out a form?
Everyone who comes to camp has to completely fill out a registration form. Registration is available on-line OR by downloading and completing a hardcopy form. All registration information can be found at the Day Camp Registration Page

Everyone is also required to have completed and submitted the BSA Annual Health & Medical Record PRIOR to arriving in camp. The medical form is part of the hard-copy registration, so there's no need to download this form if you registered through the mail. If you register on-line, you must download the medical form and mail it to the Cradle of Liberty Council Office.

What is the refund policy?
Since the camps have incurred expenses related to the reservation such as program materials, $25 of the camp fee is non-refundable under any circumstances. The refund of the balance of any fees paid will be based upon the proximity to your arrival date in camp and if it meets the criteria outlined below.

Within 30 days of your arrival date at camp, refunds will only be considered for the following reasons:
- Scout's illness -- written statement required from physician
- Extreme family emergency -- written statement required from parent
- Summer School -- written statement required from school principal or guidance counselor

In all cases, requests for refunds must be in writing and submitted to the Cradle of Liberty Council Camping Office on or before your arrival date in camp.Answer last modified: February 2010
