 Cub Scout Camping Rally
Join
 us on tonight, January 10 to discuss all the different options available for Cub
 Scout Camping in the summer of 2011. Meetings will take place at Firestone Scout
 Service Center
 and the Marks Scouting Resource Center @ 7:30pm. 
 Door prizes and light snacks will be provided. Come out and hear about
 Cub Weekends at Garrison, Cub Adventure at Camp Hart,
 Day Camp and other great news about our summer camps!
 
 
 


 Council Annual Recongnition Dinner Keynote Speaker Announced

The Cradle of Liberty Council will celebrate the last year's accomplishments and help recognize the distinguished service and achievements of some of our special scouts and volunteers at the Conshohocken Marriott on February 17, 2011.

In addition to the recognizing of Silver Beaver recipients and celebrating a year of significant accomplishments, the Cradle of Liberty Council will be joined by Bob Mazzuca, the Chief Scout Executive of the Boy Scouts of America. We would be honored if you would join us at this event.  Registration may be completed online, or through the mail.

 Technology Committee
The
 Cradle of Liberty Council is forming a Technology Committee. The
 committee will provide insight and guidance to the redesign of our website and
 several other IT needs for the Scout Offices. If you are interested in

 Silver Beaver Recipients Announced

The Cradle of Liberty Council is pleased to announce that the following 7 Scouters were selected to receive the coveted Silver Beaver Award in recognition of their distinguished service to youth and Scouting in our council. The award will be presented at the Council Annual Recognition Dinner on February 17th.

The recipients will be:
David Benton, Mike Birkbeck, Chuck Bolger, Rick Miller, Roger Milton, Christopher Nagele, Curtis Parker

Please join us in congratulating them and thanking them for the outstanding contributions that they have made to the Cradle of Liberty Council.

 
 


 Sale of Marshal Island

The Executive Board of the Cradle of Liberty Council, BSA has approved an agreement of sale for the Marshall Island property to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. The purchase will be financed through a grant by the Bucks County Delaware Riverfront Grant Program and Pennsylvania state funds set aside for wildlife habitat mitigation purposes.

The purchase includes Marshall Island and the Pennsylvania shore property with river access. A section at the southern end of Marshall Island will be designated a Bird Habitat Area and receive both state and federal protection through this agreement.

 The History of the American Flag
Is your Troop interested in learning about the history of the
 American Flag? Do you have Scouts who are looking for ways to earn their
 Citizenship Merit Badge? The Philadelphia Flag Day Association has a
 presentation called “The History of the American Flag” that is perfect for
 Troop events. The program is free of charge and takes about 40
