Musser Scout Reservation Capital Campaign

The strategic plan of the Cradle of Liberty Council calls for major investment in the Musser Scout Reservation. The future includes new cabins, shower houses, flush toilets, program improvements and much more. Check back often to stay abreast with the progress.

We are excited to have a new 24-shooter Archery Range in the Camp Hart sestion of Musser Scout Reservation! This new range, complete with new backstop netting, targets and bows has been a project from the summer into the fall, and we are pleased to announce that it opened for use to Scouts during the Fall Fest this past month! Be sure to attend a Spring event and see the new range in action!

This building are from the former east camp which was opened in 1934. The buildings had a long and remarkable service to Scouting. Unfortunately with their age it was time to retire them. In conjunction with requests from the Township we have removed these Hazards to campers and the community.

The Cradle of Liberty Council recognizes the volunteers from Henkels & McCoy in Blue Bell, PA who recently completed the rebuild of a Ford 3000 farm tractor from Musser Scout Reservation (see picture). Thank you for your time and expertise expended on this worthy cause. This is the second tractor that these volunteers have graciously rebuilt for our camps. Both tractors are used extensively for lawn mowing and other preparations as staff and volunteers ready the camp for Scouts.

Thanks to the nearly 1000 volunteers who came out to Musser Scout Reservation over the past two weekends! Work crews cleared 7-miles of brand new hiking trails to connect Camp Garrison, Delmont, and Hart. Our sincerest “THANKS!” go out to Comcast and the Order of the Arrow for this amazing partnership that brought nearly 4,100 man-hours of service AND $4,000 of new tools for use at camp for YEARS to come!
