Our Districts

Districts

The District is a fundamental element of the BSA structure. By dividing the Council Service area into Districts, we are better able to administer, train, and serve the Packs, Troops, and Crews within each of the boundaries. The Districts will independently offer resources and personnel who can make the Scouting experience for you and your Scout a positive and engaging experience.

When you locate your District, take the time to look over your District Staff, Program and Event opportunities, and Trainings that may be taking place in your area. Also be sure to attend your next upcoming Roundtable event as these are great resources for gaining insight and ideas for your unit.

Exploring

Mission Statement: To develop and deliver engaging, research based academic, character, leadership and career focused programs aligned to state and national standards that guide and enable all students to achieve their full potential.

Vision Statement: To provide positive and meaningful real-world career experiences and leadership development opportunities for all teenagers and young adults in their chosen field of interest.

Program Description: Exploring is a program for teens ages 14 (and who have completed the eighth grade) through 20 years old. Exploring’s purpose is to provide opportunities to see behind the scenes in some of the city’s most visible businesses and popular careers. Teens work directly with professionals from these high-profile businesses to get hands-on work experience and a head start on their future careers. Exploring builds a dynamic relationship between teens and the organizations in their communities. The result is a program of activities that helps teens pursue their special interests, grow, and develop.
